We aren’t giving out candy nor pennies at our house tonite. Why? Because 1. All the years living in LA, we’ve probably gotten a total of two trickortreaters and 2. Its about 50 steps up to our dark and scary house. So who could blame the kids. Do kids still go out and trick or treat? Or do parents just buy them candy and call it a night?
I don’t know about you guys, but my mom use to give out the most ghetto candy for Halloween. One year it was haw flakes (chinese wafer candy). Another year were those red chinese candies people usually give out during Chinese New Year. They leave this weird coating on your tongue and taste like plastic. And another year, my mom gave out individual starburst candy. Who knows what she was thinking? But after a while, we started to just pretend we weren’t home or I would have to dawn my homemade ninja suit to collect candy to give out. Read more...
Lately I’ve been talking to friends who recently went to the New Kids on the Block Reunion Concert. And it sounds like they’re still making girls cry(more like wet). Those guys have true die hard fans. If NKOTB endorsed Palin, they could probably get some swing votes…maybe. How do you know if you’re a true fan? Well did you ever own one of their notebooks, pencils, shoelaces, posters, shirts, fanny pack, watch, or sleeping bag. Then you probably went to the concert.
The way they described the concert was pretty amusing to hear. Old women throwing bras on the stage, girls of all ages screaming for Donnie and Jimmy or Jerry, I honestly don’t know their names. I know there’s Donnie, whose a great actor. Romeo, I don’t know. Sorry if I just desecrated your passion for NKOTB. Read more...

I dont know about you guys, but doesn’t it seem like these elections are getting a little bit out of hand. I know we’re living in a time where viral marketing is king, but that doesn’t mean that we should all stoop down just to bring up controversy. Given, some die hard supporters are going to go to extremes to show support, but it seems like the campaigns and news media themselves are driving people to go to even more extremes. Just using your good friend google and with John McCain and Barack Obama, 90% of the news results that come up simply slander the opponent. I just watched this news interview of Joe Biden by a legit network anchor. Read more...

I don’t know if you noticed, but Halloween is just around the corner. Usually Halloween is an indication of another year in the books. Seriously folks, its almost 2009. Weren’t we playing Prince’s song like a few years ago for Y2K. Anyways, back to Halloween, the DAY of the DEAD. OooooooO, I want to suck you’re blood. muahahaha. Oh, um, Sorry, Halloween gets me going.
Actually I think November 1st is the official day of the dead so wouldn’t you think we would wear our costumes on the first. I think perhaps this year, I’m wearing my costume for another day. So what if people stare at me. Its technically the right thing. I mean I can dress up as an alcoholic for two days right… Don’t worry, I’ll get a designated drunk driver. No worries. Read more...

Once again, another successful and memorable experience collaborating with our long time friend Ali Wong and her comedic partna Chris Garcia. Those two are some intelligent and funny ass people. Seriously, you try being a stand up comedian. I would have to say we’ve known Ali since probably 1995, maybe longer. (old age kickin in) Some of us grew up with her in a youth community center in San Francisco Chinatown (our hood) called Cameron House. Besides my good friend’s older sister, Ali was the only other girl I had heard and felt her FART! That was when I knew she was destine for greater accomplishments. Read more...

Like all HBO shows, they are simply DA BOMB! Don’t they win numerous awards every year at the emmy’s or something. Ever since I’ve lived with cable (many years counting) and subscribed to HBO, it has never disappointed. Entourage, Extras, Six Feet Under, Band of Brothers, The Wire, and a personal fav, Flight of the Conchords. Bret…here. Jemaine…here. Murray…present!
I’ve always dreamed of being a rapper when I was a kid and I think this is how I would have turned out. This would be exactly what I would sing about. No doubt!
Heeeelllllo everyone and welcome to the birth of AROWANA LIFE. For us, this is our way of expressing how we really think and act when we’re not hard at work. (work, what’s that) In other words, when someone says, “you should be more professional”, then this is the COMPLETE opposite. Of course we have facebook so you know our favorite shows and our religious views, but there’s more to us, seriously. Like crying over our Bay Area teams stinking it up, or how we use to make crazy videos growing up, or even Obama/McCain views. That’s right. I said it. I brought up politics. Who knows, we all might be part of American history. By the way, (earmuffs) its our f>@king blog, we say whatever we want…but then again, you can comment and tell us we’re retarded, damn.
