These guys are definitely kinda weird. But for some reason I just can’t get off this song. And although some may view this as a bit culturally wrong, I think its more exciting to see artists be artists. A lot of singers are just way too cool for school. These Australians are just doing their thing.

CLIFF DIVING

Ever dare to skydive or go bungy jumping? Yeah, I think that’s pretty standard extreme stuff anyone would try. But what about cliff diving? Well, that’s a whole other level. Like, you must be craaaazzzy level. I know a belly flop hurts like no other. So I can’t imagine landing into the water at the wrong angle AT THAT HEIGHT.

Here’s a promo film for the European Cliff Diving Championships in southern Switzerland. Found it on one of our favorite video sites, VIMEO. Just take a couple minutes to relax and watch this video. Enjoy.

MARVEL ANIME TEASERS

We know when Comic-con time comes around, the geeky side starts leaking out of our pores. Even with the bad economy, tickets were sold out for the past five months. CRAZY RIGHT! We didn’t get a chance to go this year (with our Zelda costumes) but a main reason why people go now is the amount of celebs that show up. They are there usually promoting a movie (Twilight) or just geeking out like the rest. Since there’s so many successful adaptations of comic books to movies, the crowds have grown in numbers over the years in search of the next blockbuster franchise.

Here’s a few teaser trailers that came out for Marvel Entertainment and Madhouse’s anime-style adaptation of Iron and Wolverine. Luckily they are smart enough to make these the right way, Sony Pictures in JAPAN! GEEK ON!

LYRICS BORN – LAST TRUMPET

AH YEAH! Its Friday! Today we’re going to be looking at some oldie but goodie work for Arowana Friday. Back in 2003, we shot this music video with our homie, Lyrics Born and Lateef the Truth Speaker. They are Bay Area hip hop artist which run with the Quannum Crew. If you never heard of the Quannum Crew, well then you are truly missing out.

The song Last Trumpet is off Lyrics Born first solo album entitled Later that Day. Its probably our most favorite hip hop album of all time. If you listen to this album from start to beginning, you will transform to a new person with a new appreciation of hip hop, guaranteed! This is hip hop, at ITS FINEST!

We shot this on good old standard definition and ran around San Francisco, using our favorite spots like Fort Miley, Cameron House, the Financial District, up near cliff house, the Bay Bridge, the bart station, Portsmouth Square Parking garage, and on top of our homies rooftop in Nob Hill. Pretty much everywhere we could shoot for free. Luckily cops didn’t really care either. We love SF!

This video actually won an Alice Radio Station 3 Minute Film Festival award for Original Music Video category in 2006. What’s crazy is that this song was actually made pre 9/11. If you listen to the words, you would swear it would have been post 9/11. So this song spoke volumes. But of course since the music video wasn’t made until after 2001, MTV and other music video outlets refused to air it.

But this was Arowana Films first music video and def wasn’t the last. But its always good to reflect on past work. So enjoy some old school work that still KICKS ASS today!

Wow! We hit a milestone. We are truly blessed and fortunate to have reached this point in our youtube career. THANK YOU viewers! When we shot FM’s Round Round music video on the eve of Fast And Furious 3 two years ago, we had no idea what we were doing or where we were going, but we did know that we were having a lot of fun. And before I go on, we couldn’t have done this without the help of several several individuals that really just gave it their all. Filmmaking is true collaboration and on the level that we shoot things, this is a crucial necessity. So, for any of you that have ever helped us, a big “thanks homie” goes out to you! Anyways, I’ll try to recount some of the great moments of the day.

Well we had an awesome array of equipment-we had a dollie, kino flos, apple boxes, tracks, an HD camera, (but we eventually shot on the trusty PAL DVX), a steadicam!, and we even had a truck! It was just one of those days that everything went as planned and we had it all at our disposal. We had hella cars. I mean like over 20 dope cars that came from all over Southern California to our little showoff. We had a cop. We had a locations manager. We had some dope gear for FM to rock. We had a great location. And believe it or not, we were on time and on schedule throughout most of the day.

We had hot dogs, lots of hot dogs. We had a producer that did it all for us. I forgot what we ate for lunch, but I think we ate something. And of course we couldn’t have done any of this without the blessing of Universal and our elder brother director Justin Lin. We even had a trailer for changing. Well changing for the girls. Yes the girls, our import model friends. They were such nice and kind individuals. I know, I know, they have a certain appeal and image, but they were really some of the best support we could have asked for.
