CHANGE IS COMING

First off, much props to John McCain. He fought a hard battle but I think he kinda knew what was to come. But seriously, he gave a humbling speech congratulating Obama and encouraging his supporters for a better America. Unfortunately, there was just no way he could have stopped the power of hope and change. THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN! World, we have all just witnessed history.

In my young life, I have lived through the invention of the internet, the first Chinese basketball player, the popularity of reality tv like Flava of Love, and now the first African American President. I was thinking the whole time, this has to be the first time I’ve ever felt so excited for a Presidential election. To care about the future of America and my future generation made me feel more patriotic than ever. Call me young, call me inexperienced, but for one night, millions and millions of people in the WORLD were celebrating Obama’s victory(except the McCain supporters). Rev Jesse Jackson and many others teared up from the joy of what they were witnessing. This defines the American dream. No longer am I embarrassed. The best feeling is that I can actually say that I’m proud to be an American.

Other side notes, Al Franken got really really close. Tough to lose by so little but I think a recount is in effect. Alaska is f#$d up man. They just elected a convicted felon for their Senate. I have to scratch my head on that one. Do you think Pres. Bush couldn’t sleep cuz of the party people outside the White House yelling “OBAMA”?

California, you just gave more rights to animals than to homosexuals. Comon. Are you serious? I keep thinking, if literally everyone voted, would it have made a difference? Cuz I can probably count a good hand full of people I know that didn’t vote and maybe it could have been the difference. Who knows.
