GAS IS CHEAP
We know we’re about a few months late talking about CHEAP GAS but seriously, WE LOVE CHEAP GAS! I mean everyone is so use to $3 or $4 a gallon. I’ve grown use to paying top dollars for a full tank a gas. Put in the credit card, max it out at 50 bucks and put in the credit card again to finish the tank. Almost like paying for a plane ticket to the Bay Area or something. But now, after the whole economy going to SHIEEEET, the price of oil per barrel has gone down…WAY DOWN. AND where in the city would you find the cheapest gas around town. That’s right, the GHETTO aka the Chevron down the street from our house. $2.09 baby!!! Maybe I’ll go faster than the optimal 55 mph I usual drive to save gas.
We bring this up because we just got back from SF shooting the Chinese New Year Parade and I noticed how gas has finally leveled out in price. Of course its a little more expensive up there but still, its around the low two dollar range. I’m just really scared that the prices will go up again and every broke person in America will suffer.
Speaking of Chinese New Year Parade, it didn’t rain! SWEET! It was a great parade this year. I think I’ve finally figured out the true theme of the parade. As we were filming the parade, it struck me. So many kids and so much cultural influence to not just Chinese Americans, but to everyone. It’s such a memorable experience for a kid to play a part in the parade. Whether they are part of a lion dance, flying kicks popping balloons, playing music in a band, or even sitting on a float to enjoy the ride, it gives that sense of community that most cities lack. Anyways, hopefully we’ll put up some footage from the parade soon.
Back to gas, what’s everyone’s guess? Will it go back up to $3 or $4? Maybe go even lower like in the dollar range. I’m guessin it’ll settle at around $2.59. Some people even think it’ll go down past a dollar and stay there. Maybe in some little town in the country but I couldn’t see that happening in the city. I can already tell the amount of cars that are back on the road again. Green movement has taken a hit.
When I think of gas, I think of this AWESOME scene from Zoolander. Most people hate this movie (probably because the acting) cuz the story was genius BUT this scene sets the movie off on a great note!
