Well we had an awesome array of equipment-we had a dollie, kino flos, apple boxes, tracks, an HD camera, (but we eventually shot on the trusty PAL DVX), a steadicam!, and we even had a truck! It was just one of those days that everything went as planned and we had it all at our disposal. We had hella cars. I mean like over 20 dope cars that came from all over Southern California to our little showoff. We had a cop. We had a locations manager. We had some dope gear for FM to rock. We had a great location. And believe it or not, we were on time and on schedule throughout most of the day.

We had hot dogs, lots of hot dogs. We had a producer that did it all for us. I forgot what we ate for lunch, but I think we ate something. And of course we couldn’t have done any of this without the blessing of Universal and our elder brother director Justin Lin. We even had a trailer for changing. Well changing for the girls. Yes the girls, our import model friends. They were such nice and kind individuals. I know, I know, they have a certain appeal and image, but they were really some of the best support we could have asked for.

Anyways, pit stopped at Kettlemen City for some gas and food. It came down to IN N OUT and MCDONALDS. Since McDonald’s was part of the gas station. Mickey D’s it was. The only thing that excites me about McDelish is the angus burgers. I dunno why. BUT to my discovery, they had none, no more, out! After ordering my 2 McChickens, the fly infestation problems they had behind the register became noticeable. I was the fortunate one, but Eric wasn’t. He ordered the Fish Filet. And usually when something takes a while to come out, means its a little more fresher. Ha, McD’s and fresh shouldn’t be used together. Anyways, we started eating and BA BA BAMN! Eric finds his sandwich to be absolutely grotesque. “What the hell?!” as I’m chomping down my McChicken. We examine the Fish Filet and its got mold on it. LOTS AND LOTS OF MOLD.

I mean what can you say after an experience like that. How can the dude preparing it not even notice the white spots on a brown bun. Of course Eric got his money back…with no apology from the manager of course. We couldn’t really sue. Eric didn’t eat it and get sick. Most we get is probably some gift certificates and a huge lawyer fee, maybe. And so we did the American thing to do and called corporate and complained. Here’s how they shut us up.

Twenty stinking dollars in gift certificates. COME ON!!! Someone could have gotten food poisoning in your store and you’re a million dollar corporation and you can only throw $20 bucks at us. We could have squeeze more out of them like $30 or $40. Well damn it, IT WORKED! It shut us up and we went on living happy. It was our first experience having the upper hand…for a moment. So what did we learn today. Don’t order the Fish Filet…maybe for a year or two. Don’t eat at McDon’t for a while…maybe for a month or two. Check what you are eating regardless of how hungry you are…DEFINITELY!!!

On a lighter shade of brown, we found this old music video commercial we did with the FM boys WAAAAY back when for the McDonald’s Big Mac campaign. Its an oldie but goodie. I can honestly say its making me hungry right now, but not enough to scarf down some McMoldy. NEVER SEEN BEFORE UNTIL NOW. AROWANA FRIDAY COMES A DAY EARLY. ENJOY!!!

What’s also dope is that their new single GIRLS ON THE DANCE FLOOR from the ANIMAL album is already broadcasting on the radio waves. It’s been on POWER 106 in LA on Yesi Ortiz’s “Hit or Miss“. Pretty sick huh!

These online parties/chats/concerts are awesome. Its totally the wave of the future, even though porn probably started this many many years ago…so I’ve heard. But its really cool, so cool that I was chatting with singing artist Macy Gray the other week RANDOMLY. I’ll soon have the clips up for you to see what questions I asked her.

Whatup everyone! Tonight is FM’s online release PARTAY presented by StickAm. How much does it cost? What’s the dress code? Can you bring your underage girlfriend? All these questions have very simple answers. HERE tonight at 9PM for FREE for EVERYONE!

Also one of the jams they should be performing tonight is “Dance Like Michael Jackson”. Here’s the music video FM did with the guys from WONG FU PRODUCTIONS. We haven’t had a chance to work with Wong Fu personally but I hear they are cool ass cats. They do great work and nothing stops them from getting to their goals. Guess what today is? Another installment of Arowana Fridayyyyyy. Sometimes I wish everyday was Friday, but then that would just mean Saturday or Sunday would never come. Anyways, today we’re going to be checking out a music video we did a while back, ROUND ROUND, with our homies Kevnish, Prohgress, and J-Splif (with short hair) from FAR EAST MOVEMENT. If you ever bought a Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift HD DVD, you’d actually find the music video on there. Sick huh. It wuz until Blue-Ray kicked HD’s ass!

It was a full day shoot at a parking garage structure somewhere in LA . We called in our boy AJ to help us get the cars from the movie along with some from Toys R Us, some handsome actors from the movie SUNG KANG and LEONARDO NAM to make cameos, a bunch of lovely ladies (MODELS FROM HEAVEN) to help the sausage fest ratio, hot dogs times 200, and a bunch of great people that were down for the cause to help make the shoot possible.

Here’s the special treat. I’m gonna let you guys in on the secret cameos that Arowana Films made in the video. Check it out! At 1:41, you’ll see Dennis the 1st AD in red. Oops, haha. At 2:04, you’ll see Anson on the left holding a camera (he’s actually shooting the Behind the Scenes Doc at the same time being an extra). At 3:30, you’ll see Evan (the director) running off camera in the background. HAHAHA! Overall the project was a complete success. It was an amazing experience to work with great people like FM and many others. These are the days we cherish forever. For more behind the scenes footage, check out the doc Anson made for it here. Please don’t be offended for the first minute of it. We were young.
