While we were surfing through profiles on the singles site, Asian2date.com, we found a profile that proved to be a very compelling and sweet video testimonial. We wondered how it could receive such little attention and how many single woman actually replied to this heartbroken old man. Is it really that hard to find love in a country where people are starving and dying?

But the real question is what were we doing on Asian2date.com?

Exactly.

It takes a real man to cry on camera, even if it is a webcam.

On a enlightened note, there is a serious situation in North Korea. North Korea is not a laughing matter and there are people dying there as we speak. As filmmakers, we create…to create ideas, thoughts, and dialogue on social issues that can hopefully find some change in the world. We should all attempt to make this world a better place. We are the privileged ones, remember if you’re reading this, you are better off than 98% of the world. KIM JONG IL INTERVIEW

Check out this video Arowana Films put together with comedian Danny Cho. He’s been seen on MAD TV as well as some standup comedy around LA. After seeing the Bush shoe throwing video, we had to respond with something crazy of our own. Lucky for us, Danny’s long lost uncle is Kim Jong Il. The resemblance is pretty right on. Liberty in North Korea (LINK)

The other day we had lunch with former executive director of LINK, Adrian Hong. Liberty in North Korea (LINK) is a non-profit organization which creates awareness about the suffering and torturing thats happening in North Korea. It was absolutely mind blowing to hear about the concentration camps, the inequality of human rights, and the oppression thats happening RIGHT NOW in North Korea. Currently there are dozens of camps that hold over 200,000 citizens including children where they are forced to do such things like biochemical experiments and forced manual labor. THIS IS KIDS WE’RE TALKING ABOUT. WTF! Remember Schindler’s List, well swap out the Jews and put in Koreas. Oh and its not 1944, like 60 years ago, its today. TODAY!

LINK is also dedicated in protecting and aiding North Korean refugees that make it across the borders. Constantly, tens of thousands of refugees flee North Korea. Why? What would cause someone to leave their homes, their friends and families, and their country? Something MUST be wrong in North Korea. maybe its the famine, maybe its the lack of freedom, or maybe its just the torture and violence that happens to them. Pick one.

Currently, North Korea doesn’t allow cameras nor barely any tourist or reporters. They don’t allow cell phones or outside entertainment like books and movies. No outside influence whatsoever! The only thing people can do is what the country lets them do and watch, meaning what Kim Jong Il says. This is communism at its finest…or should I say WORST. I’ve read somewhere that right now, what he’s doing to his own people is worst than Hitler and any other f&$ked up dictator has done combined in history. My question is do world leaders like BUSH or the UN Council have knowledge of all this. OF COURSE! But will they take action. I think we already know that answer.

So back to why we were having lunch with Adrian. Well, Arowana Films is in development for a project to create more awareness about the situation in North Korea.
