FANTASTIC FEST 09

I just got back from Fantastic Film Festival in Austin, Texas. First time in Austin, first time at Fantastic Fest. It’s one of the geekiest, nerdiest, and intense film festival experience ever imagined and I loved it. If you love horror, then you must come to this festival one day. They held it at the famous Alamo Drafthouse theater aka “BADASS CINEMA” where all the seats had tables in front of you to order food and drinks (even beer) throughout the screenings. Of course, every seat (besides the front row) still had a great view of the screen. My one big lesson in horror that I learned was that I averaged seeing one penis getting cut off a day. I guess its the norm. WOW! The fest wasn’t totally filled with horror but also many other genres so I’d thought I would share with you of what I thought were some great films that I saw. NINJA ASSASSIN TRAILER

We’ve been hearing since the beginning of this year that this movie, NINJA ASSASSIN, was coming out soon. Supposedly, it failed the expectations of the studio execs to be released in theaters (maybe because of Speedracer) but luckily its now slated to come out November 24th. We can’t actually say whether or not it’ll be good, but seeing all these behind the scenes videos on set of the movie and just having a majority of Asian American talent as the cast, we’re still looking forward to seeing it. The poster is badass! The youtube videos are pretty sick! The trailer, well, its doing its job by wanting me to see more.

NINJA ASSASSIN

Check out some training and stunt choreography for the new Wachowski Bros (Matrix) movie NINJA ASSASSIN. I remember our homie Sung Kang talking about this and how the Wachowski’s film most of their movies in Germany. I wish I could film in another country like China or Thailand. Work all day filming cool stuff, then go get a $2 grand meal, then cap it off with a $5 oil massage. That would be the life! Anyways, this movie looks like something special to check out when it releases. Rumor has it, it’ll be out in March.
