After many phone calls and security checks, we finally got to kick it with Sen. Barrack Obama. Yup, that Asian brother-in-law guy on stage with him all the time turns out its my mom’s, sister’s, cousin’s, cousin’s, dog’s, dog trainer whose brother knows him. Go figure right? Anyways it was wicked awesome. Security was really tight. Who would want to danger a maybe African American prez?
We talked about world politics, the economy, and even Zimpy’s chili in Hawaii. We had very similar views especially the representation of Asian Americans in Hollywood. I was impressed that he knew that the Departed was actually from China. He thought Infernal Affairs 2 was the best out of the three. He def understood where we were coming from and how if he could be the first African American President, then we could too make our mark in Hollywood. But once he said he liked Hanna Montana cuz of his daughters, he kinda lost some street cred with me.
I dont know about you guys, but doesn’t it seem like these elections are getting a little bit out of hand. I know we’re living in a time where viral marketing is king, but that doesn’t mean that we should all stoop down just to bring up controversy. Given, some die hard supporters are going to go to extremes to show support, but it seems like the campaigns and news media themselves are driving people to go to even more extremes. Just using your good friend google and with John McCain and Barack Obama, 90% of the news results that come up simply slander the opponent. I just watched this news interview of Joe Biden by a legit network anchor.
