VALENTINE’S DAY BY 18MMW
We didn’t even realize but Valentine’s Day is coming up…soon. For some, its a huge dinner, gifts, flowers, candy, yadda yadda. And for others, its a normal, I’m not going to give in to this glamorized, business making, money spending day. And for most, its somewhere in between those two, cuz you don’t wanna get your ass kicked by your girl. Been there, done that.
Don’t you remember back in the days in elementary school when giving out Valentine’s Day cards to the people in your class was this huge deal. In every box of cards, there was usually one special card different from all the others. You would categorize them. Guys get the normal ones, girls get the more romantic ones, and one or two that you had a crush on, would get the special ones. I can’t remember what the card said but it always had something to do with “you’re special” or “my heart”. And of course when you have that young crush, you read into everything.
I remember in 4th grade I was in a class that was mixed 4th/5th graders. And I had this absolutely huge crush on this girl (never to be named) that was in the 5th grade. She would wear the same red jacket everyday and have her hair pushed all to one side, curly as hell. And she would sit directly across from me on the other side of the room where I would stare at her everyday. (not in a creepy way but you know) Anyways, Valentine’s Day came and it was the perfect chance to tell her how I felt. So of course, I saved this special card for her and added a few touches of my own. At the time, the only thing I was good at drawing was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so I drew Leonardo and April (kinda looked like her but not really). I thought I was so cool and so money. And I wrote the message “I like you.” As she opened her card, I saw her expression start with smiling, to laughing, to reading, to looking at me, to crying. And she started ballin in class and I thought to myself, oh crap she’s about to kick my ass. Nothing ever happened but she later thanked me for the card and told me she will never like me. I was crushed for weeks. AHHHHH amazing moments in childhood history.
Anyways, this new video from 18 Mighty Mountain Warriors is super hilarious. I love how Greg Watanabe captures the wide spectrum of the Asian culture. It def reminds me of some good times dating. Enjoy the video and don’t make anyone cry this Valentine’s Day. (Saturday guys)

usually in 4/5 split classes, the standard practice is to place the higher 4th graders and the lower 5th graders…so if it makes u feel any better…she most likely was a dumbo
